kathleen azali is a researcher and a design-technology practitioner. Her research interests are in the histories and intersections of information, design, (digital) technology, and society.

She’s currently based in Singapore as a Research Associate at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS). Previously, she was a Graduate Research Fellow at Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore.

She was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, where in 2008 she founded C2O library & collabtive, an independent library and co-working space. She’s an editor of Ayorek!, an urban knowledge platform with Surabaya perspective. With Erlin Goentoro, she co-founded Chimp Chomp, an information systems & (web) design lab.
